Bango has been assessed against the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) and granted a full certificate of compliance as a level 2 merchant. The PCI Security Standards Council has details of the scheme. This certification was introduced in 2005 and is endorsed by Visa, MasterCard and all other leading card schemes.
It is mandated by Visa and MasterCard for larger partners and the process involved independent assessment by an accredited third party security consultancy in conjunction with Bango.
Why is "Bango Mobile" on my card statement?
If you pay by credit card you will see "Bango Mobile" on your card statement. Bango operates as a reseller for content purchased by credit cards.
Are my details secure?
Credit card details are not held or handled by Bango. Instead we use a dedicated third party who themselves are accredited with industry certificates such as AVS/CV2, 3-D Secure (Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode) as well as payer authentication and traditional rules-based fraud screening.
The link between Bango and our third party is a dedicated secure link. Any information sent between both parties is encrypted then sent over individually.
